Our Pastor was called at a very young age, he was 14 years old when he receive the Holy Ghost at Christ Temple Assembly on December 14, 1964 under the leadership of the late Pastor Holt. As the Lord move him moved forward, he became a member of the Greater Refuge Temple of Christ, under the leadership of Apostle Robert L. Sanders Sr. Elder Kerr served as a volunteer bible study teacher and intern chaplain at the N.Y.S. Correctional Facility. As the Spirit began to move in his life, God sent him to shepherd his flock, and out came the Temple of Christ Church, Inc. The Church began on 11/15/2005 in Elder Kerr's home.
Elder Kerr graduated from Vision Christian College with a Associates Degree in Biblical Studies. He attended Houghton College, Empire State College, Refuge Temple Bible Institute and completed the studies of Clinical Pastoral Care Training through Sister Hospital as an intern Chaplin. He has travelled all parts of the World including England, China, Africa and many other places in doing Missionary work.
Elder Kerr retired from Goodyear-Dunlop 11/15/2008 after working over 37 1/2 years. He is also the founder of My Place Home, an emergency shelter that houses homeless women & children, which was founded 2/29/2008. He has employed over 25 people since it's start, and has served over 500,000 meals. This shows how the Lord uses him to help bless others in the community to become independent. God is helping him to do a great work in the community in which the church was established. The Lord has given Pastor Kerr vision to help get various grants in housing renovations, community awareness programs, food pantries, and much more.
Pastor Kerr has many honors for his contributions as a humanitarian and for his scholastic achievements. To God be the Glory!
